Edwin's journey in the construction industry dates back to 1978 when he began working for a master carpentry company. Over the years, as his four sons were growing up rapidly, he realized the importance of spending quality time with them and nurturing their shared passion for construction. In 1996, this realization led him to establish EZ General Construction Inc., and that's how we got our name.
Our humble beginnings consisted of just the five of us, working diligently for four years. Edwin, with his unwavering commitment to honesty and patience, played a pivotal role in imparting various trades and business communication skills to his sons. As our reputation for quality work spread, we found ourselves inundated with projects, which prompted us to expand our team to 26 employees within two years. Each of us, including Edwin, continued to work in the field, with everyone taking on the role of a crew foreman.
However, as the business continued to grow, Edwin found himself juggling responsibilities that included estimating, scheduling, bookkeeping, and maintaining our high standards of quality. It was at this point that his eldest son, Rodney, who had received formal education in drafting, business, and management, transitioned from the field to the office. This move marked another significant milestone in our company's development.
Our success led us to tackle substantial commercial projects, including well-known ventures like Hershey Park, Clipper Magazine Stadium, Schreiber Pediatric Center, various banks, Lowe's, Hilton hotels, restaurants, celebrity homes, and comprehensive single and multi-home developments. Despite our rapid growth, we remained committed to ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
We want to emphasize that while we have grown into a multi-million-dollar business, we are more than capable of handling smaller projects. We have dedicated residential crews specializing in custom home construction, window and door replacement, various roofing projects, deck and patio construction, additions, masonry work, agricultural projects, and even smaller tasks like power washing.
